We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to support a mission-critical Anti-Money Laundering (AML) platform, with a strong focus on the SAS AML solution. The role involves enabling platform reliability, automating deployments, and supporting the application layer to ensure seamless financial crime detection operations. You will work closely with engineering, security, and vendor teams to maintain a secure, scalable, and highly available AML platform within a regulated financial services environment. Hybrid Position. Location: Johannesburg or Nairobi only.
5–7+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Platform Engineering.
Experience working with financial services platforms or regulated environments, preferably mobile financial services or banking.
Strong experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix system administration.
Knowledge of SAS platform administration, preferably SAS AML or SAS Viya.
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or ARM templates.
Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, or similar platforms.
Understanding of networking, APIs, and enterprise integration patterns.

- Manage cloud and on-premises hybrid environments hosting AML workloads.
- Monitor system health, performance, and availability using enterprise monitoring tools.
- Ensure platform compliance with regulatory, security, and financial governance standards.
- Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
- Manage releases, patches, and upgrades for the AML platform.
- Implement DevSecOps practices, including vulnerability scanning and secure configuration management.
- Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
